Our Grants
2009 Morris Legacy Fund Grants
Families who contribute to or establish Legacy Funds can specify an issue, cause or hometown that they would like to have their charitable legacy impact. The Community Foundation can then respond quickly and nimbly to ever-changing community needs through grants designed around the spirit of the donor’s wishes.
- Middle School Music Initiative – A unique collaboration between the Colonial Symphony, Frelinghuysen Middle School and Neighborhood House will provide the opportunity for underserved youth to experience the joy of music through Suzuki violin lessons in an after-school program. Funding was provided by the Irene A. Van Deusen Fund.
- Morris Museum – A new education project for visually impaired Morris County residents, done in collaboration with the New Jersey Foundation for the Blind, will allow the residents to experience the wonders of a museum with special hands-on visits. Funding was provided by the George & Yvonne Alkemade Fund.
- New Jersey Network’s Morristown: Where America Survived – The historical significance of Morristown as a safe haven during the American Revolution will be highlighted in this special documentary and educational video for the Jockey Hollow Visitor Center at the Morristown National Historical Park. Funding was provided by the Cultural Arts Fund.
