Mercer County

Since 1989, the Mercer Foundation Fund and its leadership have been committed to addressing the needs of Mercer County and its residents. Over the years, grants have been awarded to organizations committed to areas such as social welfare, education, gang prevention, health and the environment, and the arts. Meeting bi-annually in the spring and the fall, the advisors review grant requests taking into consideration the ever-changing needs within the community.

Case in point — over the last 12 months, the Fund's leadership purposely focused much of its attention and available funding to organizations providing emergency assistance to individuals and families who were experiencing personal hardship as a result of the economic decline.

Organizations interested in funding may submit a funding proposal once a year. Average grants range between $2,000 and $5,000. The Common Application Form can be downloaded from www.cnjg.org. Recent grant recipients include:
